About the position

The CloudOps Engineer position at Primary Talent Partners is a 4-month contract role with a banking client located in San Francisco, CA. This role is primarily focused on designing, developing, and maintaining integration services using IBM MQ, with a strong emphasis on cloud migration and integration architecture. The successful candidate will lead efforts to establish and communicate integration architecture guidelines, principles, standards, and best practices across multiple product teams as they transition to the cloud environment. In this role, you will provide end-to-end support for solution integration, which includes designing, developing, testing, deploying, and supporting various solutions. You will also be responsible for custom developing monitoring and alerting solutions, participating in defect and incident root cause analyses, and providing production support, including being part of an on-call rotation. A strong knowledge of high-availability, load-balancing, and failover configurations across application, infrastructure, and platform components is essential. The position requires a clear understanding of team development best practices, including peer review processes and version control systems. You will build solutions in accordance with the bank's security policies to mitigate risks and enhance efficiencies. The role also involves making judicious risk-based decisions and requires experience with Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform and GitLab pipelines. The primary responsibility of this role is to develop integration services for IBM MQ in AWS, supporting all phases of the System Development Lifecycle (SDLC), facilitating customer onboarding, and assisting with product enhancements and production support. This opportunity allows you to build the integrations services platform using Infrastructure as Code and work cross-functionally with architects, developers, engineers, business analysts, and product managers across multiple teams in a rapidly evolving environment. To succeed in this role, you must be an organized, self-starter with excellent collaboration and communication skills, capable of working independently while building relationships and driving technical solutions from inception to completion. The position requires a technically savvy candidate with a proven ability to thrive in a dynamic environment while maintaining strong relationships with customers and partners.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain integration services using IBM MQ.
  • Lead efforts to establish, define, maintain, and communicate integration architecture guidelines, principles, standards and best practices across multiple product teams as they migrate to the cloud.
  • Provide end-to-end support for solution integration, including designing, developing, testing, deploying, and supporting solutions.
  • Custom develop monitoring and alerting solutions.
  • Participate in defect and incident root cause analyses.

  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of high-availability, load-balancing and failover configurations across application, infrastructure, and platform components.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software development experience.
  • 5+ years of recent and related experience as an MQ Architect/Integration Engineer from Design through the Implementation of technical solutions.
  • 1+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, GitLab, Packer, Ansible).
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and analytical skills; strong and demonstrated interpersonal skills to include influence, collaboration, accountability, and critical thinking.
