About the position

The Cloud Systems Administrator (Senior) at BAE Systems plays a crucial role in supporting a key government customer by delivering engineering services for cloud-based infrastructure. This position involves managing both Linux and Windows environments, troubleshooting applications, and ensuring compliance with security requirements. Responsibilities

• Provide troubleshooting and administrative support at Tiers 1 & 2 for AWS cloud-based enterprise systems.
• Troubleshoot and support Windows and Linux based front end applications on AWS cloud.
• Support system/application patching and maintenance.
• Create and update technical documentation.
• Prepare, install, and maintain system components.
• Support Tier 3 and Tier 4 personnel with user issues and troubleshooting.
• Create and deliver briefings to customers at various levels.
• Ensure system and applications comply with customer system security requirements.
• Support process automation using Agile methodology.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in cloud systems administration.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in a related field preferred.
• Expert troubleshooting and solutioning skills for AWS cloud-based systems.
• Familiarity with customer system security requirements and processes.
• Solid administrative and engineering rigor in system verification and validation.
• Experience with AWS Cloud and continuous integration, test automation, or SecDevOps.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with other cloud platforms (Azure, Google, Oracle, IBM).
• Virtualization experience and knowledge of cloud architectures and services.
• Integration of virtualized applications and application streaming techniques.
• Experience with MS Office and MS Office 365 integration.
• Development of integration interfaces across JAVA, .NET, C++, and similar platforms.
