About the position

The Google Cloud Consulting Professional Services team is dedicated to helping customers transform and evolve their businesses through the utilization of Google's global network, web-scale data centers, and software infrastructure. As a Cloud Platforms and Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of businesses of all sizes by leveraging technology to connect with customers, employees, and partners. Your primary responsibility will be to provide exceptional technical guidance to customers adopting Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services. This includes offering best practices on secure foundational cloud implementations, automated provisioning of infrastructure and applications, and cloud-ready application architectures. In this role, you will ensure that customers receive the maximum benefits from Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and have an optimal experience in migrating, building, modernizing, and maintaining applications within the platform. You will collaborate closely with Product Management and Product Engineering teams to drive excellence in Google Cloud products and features. Your expertise will be crucial in helping customers navigate complex cloud platform challenges and in designing and implementing cloud-based technical architectures that align with their business objectives. Responsibilities

  • Provide domain expertise in cloud platforms and infrastructure; solving complex cloud platform challenges.
  • Work with customers to design and implement cloud-based technical architectures, migration approaches, and application optimizations that enable business objectives.
  • Be a technical advisor and perform troubleshooting to resolve technical challenges for customers.
  • Create and deliver best practices recommendations, tutorials, blog articles, and sample code.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience working with client-side web technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or HTTP).
  • 6 years of experience coding with one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, C/C++, Python).
  • 5 years of experience automating infrastructure provisioning, Networking, DevOps or continuous integration/delivery.
  • Experience in technical troubleshooting, and managing internal/external partners or customers.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), techniques such as prompt engineering, dual encoders, embedding vectors, and their implementation within GenAI systems.
  • Experience managing and working with external partners/customers.
  • Knowledge of containerization and container orchestration technologies such as Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
  • Familiarity with standard IT security practices such as identity and access management, data protection, encryption, certificate, and key management.
