About the position

The Cloud Product Engineer at Allstate is a full stack engineer responsible for architecting and building cloud application development and hosting platforms. This role focuses on owning, developing, implementing, and operating Allstate's Cloud platforms, with a specialization in Azure AI Services and Azure Open AI. The engineer will engage with strategic consumers to establish AI strategies, prioritize use cases, and deliver architectural designs and proof-of-concept work, while advocating for technology solutions and engineering practices.

Responsibilities

  • Own, develop, implement, and operate Allstate's Cloud platforms.
  • Provide in-depth AI expertise to support technical relationships with consumers.
  • Recommend integration strategies, enterprise architectures, and application infrastructure for Azure AI.
  • Demonstrate Azure AI capabilities through POCs and feature demonstrations.
  • Build repeatable assets to enable other consumers and internal teams.
  • Influence Azure AI strategy by advocating enterprise consumer requirements.
  • Engage with consumers to drive and qualify new opportunities and resolve technical blockers.
  • Represent developers and key consumers in the product design and lifecycle process.
  • Champion engineering practices and help teams define frameworks using Terraform and automation.
  • Coach junior team members.
  • Maintain high availability designs and engineering for various platforms.
  • Identify creative solutions for technical support issues.

Requirements

  • 4-year Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)
  • 7 or more years of experience (Preferred)
  • 3+ years of AI experience (Machine Learning, AI Services, Search)
  • Technical expertise in AI/Cognitive Services
  • Knowledge of Prompt Engineering and AI open-source ecosystem
  • Experience with Azure Application and AI services
  • Knowledge of consuming large language model (LLM) and Foundational model APIs
  • At least 3 years of experience in Terraform development

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Ansible on Microsoft Azure
  • Knowledge of Azure Active Directory (AD)
  • Familiarity with Azure Automation and Azure Machine Learning Studio
  • Experience with CI/CD and Microsoft Azure Administration
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure Application Insights and Cost Management
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps Pipelines and PaaS
  • Understanding of Microsoft Azure Security and Storage Explorer
