About the position

As a Cloud Resiliency Testing Engineer within the Firmwide Technology Resiliency organization, you will be responsible for developing real-life scenarios and solutions to ensure resiliency across infrastructure technology and applications. This role is crucial for executing the firm-wide Recovery and Resiliency strategy, particularly in Cloud and Cyber Testing, while partnering with various teams to validate readiness and mitigate risks associated with evolving threats.

Responsibilities

  • Provide vision and execution of modernized firm-wide test events.
  • Act as the focal point for deploying new testing paradigms across multiple Lines of Business (LOBs) and technology groups.
  • Work closely with Line of Business architects and Infrastructure Product technologists to develop resilient architectures and design patterns.
  • Partner with the Firmwide Simulation Utility, Firmwide Business Resiliency, and development teams to create new testing scenarios.
  • Provide key Subject Matter Expert (SME) leadership on resiliency programs and initiatives.
  • Guide the development and implementation of resiliency controls for continuous monitoring of recovery capabilities.
  • Ensure recovery playbooks are defined, documented, communicated, and compliant with audit requirements.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
  • Hands-on technical depth in Infrastructure and/or Application engineering architecture or SRE with both Private and Public Cloud.
  • Experience in Design, Assessment, Pattern development, and End-to-End Solution Design.
  • Knowledge of network architecture concepts, including topology, protocols, components, principles, fault domains, and failure modes.
  • Current understanding of cyber threats, attacking techniques, and mitigating strategies.
  • Knowledge of IT security principles and methods.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and tooling (e.g., Terraform).
  • Skilled in conducting application and infrastructure design reviews and recognizing vulnerabilities.
  • Prior experience in disaster and/or cyber recovery planning and testing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with external auditors and regulators.
  • Prior experience maintaining regulatory and financial industry engagement.
  • Experience in programming languages such as C/C++, Java, Python.
  • Accreditations such as AWS Certified Practitioner, Google Certified Professional Cloud Security Engineer, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate.
