About the position

A prominent technology-driven organization is seeking a skilled Cloud Security Architect to join their cybersecurity team. This role focuses on integrating security into development workflows and optimizing cloud infrastructure across AWS, GCP, and Azure environments. The position is contract-to-hire, offering a competitive conversion salary and hourly contract rate, with flexibility based on experience. Responsibilities

• Hands-On Cloud Security Engineering (60%)
• Cross-functional Collaboration with Development and DevOps Teams (25%)
• Security Policy Development and Compliance (15%)

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in cloud architecture, security, and automation, primarily within AWS and GCP environments
• Strong expertise with DevSecOps and DevOps tools such as Kubernetes, Terraform, and Lacework
• Proven knowledge in Application Security (AppSec) tools, particularly Ox Security for Application Security Posture Management
• Ability to work with legacy systems to retrofit security controls
• Exceptional organizational skills with a proactive approach to prioritizing tasks

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in later-stage startups or larger organizations with a clear understanding of mature security programs
• Relevant industry certifications in cloud security or DevOps (e.g., AWS Certified Security - Specialty, Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer)
• Familiarity with compliance standards (e.g., PCI, GDPR, CCPA, CIS Top 10)
