About the position

The Cloud Security Architect will work remotely within the Platform Security team to develop and maintain a unified security architecture for a financial client. This role involves identifying security requirements, creating security patterns, and ensuring that security measures are integrated into the enterprise architecture. The architect will also evaluate threats, maintain security tools, and provide guidance on security best practices for cloud-based applications and data.

Responsibilities

  • Identify security requirements and approved patterns across various security teams.
  • Aggregate security requirements into a unified security architecture.
  • Develop and assist with new security patterns as required.
  • Partner with the Enterprise Architect to incorporate security architecture into the enterprise architecture program.
  • Assist in building a security architecture framework and mapping tools to controls and threat library.
  • Evaluate external and internal threats to the organization.
  • Maintain and update security tools based on new threats and organizational changes.
  • Perform security architecture reviews for new technologies, platforms, and applications.
  • Provide technical recommendations to mitigate risks and threats.
  • Develop, review, and provide recommendations for security architecture design artifacts.
  • Provide security architecture guidance to internal customers and security teams.
  • Support the development of security patterns and documentation of security architecture framework.
  • Conduct and facilitate security reviews, threat modeling, and design reviews throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Participate in projects and recommend secure solutions based on policies and best practices.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in various risk assessments.
  • Ensure the security of cloud-based data and applications against unauthorized access and threats.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of hands-on technical experience in Information Security with a focus on Security Architecture, Vulnerability Management, Secure Development Lifecycle, and/or Security Operations/Engineering.
  • 5+ years of Cloud Security experience across Data, Application, IAM, and Infrastructure domains (on multi-cloud such as AWS, Azure).
  • Familiarity with major security frameworks & standards such as NIST, ISO, PCI, and FedRAMP.
  • Experience with Big-Data security/analytics, Application Security, and/or IAM.
  • Understanding of data security frameworks, data quality frameworks, and data governance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA highly desired.
  • AWS Security and/or Azure Security certifications preferred.
