About the position

The senior security engineer will join a talented, global team of cloud security engineers, penetration testers, and security architects. This role applies cybersecurity subject matter expertise to challenging security engineering, cloud, and architecture problems across HP. As a central member of the architecture & security engineering function, this position is tasked with solving some of the most challenging problems within HP's cloud, on-premises, SaaS, and product architectures. The senior cloud security engineer will participate in developing cloud security controls for HP's public cloud and advise teams across HP on building secure solutions. In this role, the engineer will apply hands-on cloud security expertise to strengthen HP's cloud presence in AWS, Azure, and GCP. They will provide deep technical guidance on HP Cybersecurity architecture and lead architecture reviews to enhance HP's products and services. The engineer will identify opportunities to improve HP's security posture in the cloud and work with stakeholders across the enterprise to establish and maintain relationships. Acting as an expert, they will provide direction and guidance to process improvements and establish security requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Applying hands-on cloud security expertise to strengthen HP's cloud presence in AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Providing deep technical guidance on HP Cybersecurity architecture.
  • Leading architecture reviews to strengthen HP's products and services.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve HP's security posture in the cloud.
  • Working with stakeholders across the enterprise and establishing/maintaining relationships.
  • Acting as an expert providing direction and guidance to process improvements and establishing security requirements.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience working in an enterprise environment.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Extensive cybersecurity knowledge across all domains.
  • Strong subject matter expertise in Cloud Security, Application Security, Data Protection & Privacy, Network Security, Cryptography, and Identity & Access Management.
  • Knowledge of applicable industry standards, leading security practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong understanding of security fundamentals and general security technologies.
  • Strong ability to motivate and lead team members in a remote/virtual environment.
  • Domain-relevant training and certifications.
