About the position

The Cloud Security Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring the security of cloud environments within a financial services company. This position involves designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud security policies and procedures that align with industry standards and best practices. The engineer will be responsible for evaluating security products and vendors, providing recommendations based on thorough assessments, and implementing, configuring, and managing various cloud security tools and services. In addition to these responsibilities, the Cloud Security Engineer will identify and remediate cloud security risks and vulnerabilities, ensuring that the cloud infrastructure remains secure against potential threats. Collaboration is key in this role, as the engineer will work closely with other cloud engineers and developers to ensure compliance with established cloud security standards. The engineer will also perform security assessments of applications to identify any weaknesses and recommend improvements. Staying current with the latest cloud security technologies and trends is essential, as the engineer will be tasked with researching and evaluating new solutions that can enhance the security posture of the organization. Monitoring and responding to cloud security events and incidents will also be a critical part of the role, requiring a proactive approach to threat detection and incident response.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain cloud security policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years experience in a security engineering role, preferably in the insurance or financial services industries.
  • Experience with AWS preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Security, Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and written.
  • Security certifications a plus, such as CCSP, CSSLP, CISSP, ISSAP, ISSEP, GIAC.
