About the position

As a Cloud Security Engineer at Google Cloud, you will play a crucial role in guiding customers through their cloud journey, ensuring they adopt secure and efficient cloud solutions. You will provide technical guidance on best practices for implementing secure foundational cloud architectures, automated provisioning, and cloud-ready application designs. This position involves high visibility and interaction with senior leadership within customer organizations, helping them leverage Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to transform their businesses.

Responsibilities

• Provide domain expertise in cloud security and compliance, acting as a trusted technical advisor to customers.
• Design and develop cloud security architectures and solutions that meet and exceed customer security requirements.
• Manage disparate stakeholders within customer environments to achieve consensus and lead positive outcomes on GCP.
• Create and deliver best practice recommendations, tutorials, blog articles, and sample code.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 6 years of experience architecting, developing, or maintaining secure cloud solutions.
• Experience designing cloud enterprise solutions and supporting customer projects to completion.
• Experience coding in one or more general purpose languages (e.g., Python, Java, Go, C or C+) including data structures, algorithms, and software design.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience securing Google Cloud or other cloud environments.
• Experience implementing FedRAMP, PCI or HIPAA security requirements in a cloud environment.
• Understanding of attacks and mitigation methods in network protocols, web application security, security assessments, authentication, applied cryptography, security monitoring, incident response, and development of security tools.
• Understanding of Cloud security principles.

Benefits

• Base salary range of $142,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.
