About the position

As a Cloud Security Engineer in Google Cloud's Professional Services team, you will guide customers through their cloud journey, providing technical expertise and best practices for secure cloud implementations. Your role will involve designing cloud security architectures, ensuring compliance, and enhancing customer experiences with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services. You will interact with senior-level stakeholders, including CIOs and CISOs, to drive excellence in cloud security solutions and support customers in modernizing their applications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide domain expertise in cloud security and compliance, and be a trusted technical advisor to customers.
  • Work with customers to design and develop cloud security architectures and solutions to meet and exceed their security requirements.
  • Manage disparate stakeholders within customer environments to deliver consensus and lead positive customer outcomes on GCP.
  • Create and deliver best practice recommendations, tutorials, blog articles, and sample code.
  • Travel up to 30% for in-region meetings, technical reviews, and onsite delivery activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience architecting, developing, or maintaining secure cloud solutions.
  • Experience designing cloud enterprise solutions and supporting customer projects to completion.
  • Experience coding in one or more general purpose languages (e.g., Python, Java, Go, C or C+) including data structures, algorithms, and software design.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience securing Google Cloud or other cloud environments.
  • Experience implementing FedRAMP, PCI or HIPAA security requirements in a cloud environment.
  • Experience understanding attacks and mitigation methods in network protocols, web application security, security assessments, authentication and access control, applied cryptography, security monitoring, incident response, and development of security tools.
  • Understanding of Cloud security principles.
