About the position

As a Cloud Security Engineer at SitusAMC, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our organization's sensitive data and infrastructure within the cloud environment. Your responsibilities will include designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security measures to protect against cyber threats. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, while also staying abreast of emerging security trends and technologies. Your expertise will be instrumental in mitigating risks and safeguarding our organization's digital assets in cloud platforms like AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud. In this role, you will help build and define our cloud security posture and enable cyber resilience. You will be responsible for implementing various zero trust initiatives and designing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive security controls for cloud-hosted infrastructure, applications, and data. Regular security assessments and vulnerability scans will be part of your duties to identify and mitigate potential risks, and you will automate cloud security controls to ensure threats, vulnerabilities, and risks are minimized. You will also develop and implement security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements as they relate to cloud engineering. Monitoring and responding to security incidents in a timely and effective manner will be crucial, as will staying up-to-date with the latest security trends, threats, and technologies to continuously improve our security posture. Additionally, you will provide guidance and training to internal teams on cloud security practices and partner with the IT infrastructure team to improve the overall reliability and security of our cloud infrastructure. Working with teams and stakeholders throughout SitusAMC to address security concerns in the cloud will be a key aspect of your role.

Responsibilities

  • Help build and define our cloud security posture.

  • Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans to identify and mitigate potential risks.

  • Develop and implement security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements as it relates to cloud engineering.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, threats, and technologies to continuously improve our security posture.
  • Provide guidance and training to internal teams on cloud security practices.
  • Partner with IT infrastructure team to improve the overall reliability and security of our cloud infrastructure.
  • Work with teams and stakeholders throughout SitusAMC to address security concerns in the cloud.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field from an accredited college/university, or equivalent job experience.
  • Experienced professional with 5+ years of industry and/or relevant experience, typically at a Senior Analyst or Analyst level role or external equivalent.
  • At least 3-5 years of direct relevant work experience in cloud security engineering or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS and Azure) and their security features.
  • Experience with security tools and technologies such as CSPM, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and SIEM.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Terraform).
  • Familiarity with container security technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of encryption and key management practices.
  • Familiarity with security frameworks and standards like CIS, NIST, ISO 27001, and GDPR.
  • Excellent risk based problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Security - Specialty, Azure Security Engineer Associate, Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), or similar preferred but not required.
