About the position

The Senior Cloud Security Engineer at Booz Allen Hamilton is responsible for defining, communicating, and implementing cybersecurity architecture and administration processes for cloud environments. This role involves collaboration with the cloud infrastructure delivery team and stakeholders to ensure the design, implementation, verification, and continuous monitoring of cloud solutions. The engineer will develop Risk Management Framework (RMF) artifacts, support assessment and authorization activities, and evaluate enhancements to cloud environments against RMF controls and DoD Security Technical Implementation Guidance. Additionally, the position includes mentoring and supervising team members as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Define and implement cybersecurity architecture for cloud environments.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders using Agile processes for cloud solutions.
  • Develop RMF Body of Evidence artifacts for AWS cloud environments.
  • Support assessment and authorization activities for Authority to Operate (ATO).
  • Evaluate enhancements to cloud environments against RMF controls and STIG requirements.
  • Support data capture and configuration for Assessment and Authorization objectives.
  • Mentor and supervise team members.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with securing computer systems and DoD authorization activities.
  • 5+ years of experience with secure IT architecture, computing hardware, and software.
  • Experience with Cloud technologies, including AWS or Azure.
  • Experience with developing Body of Evidence for DoD RMF.
  • Experience with scripts and Bash for automated scanning or monitoring solutions.
  • Experience with security reviews within a DevSecOps framework.
  • Top Secret clearance.
  • HS diploma or GED.
  • Ability to obtain DoD Directive 8570 or 8140 Series IAT Level II Certification within 90 days of hire.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with planning and managing continuous monitoring solutions.
  • Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or Windows system administration.
  • Experience in Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) or Information System Security Officer (ISSO) roles.
  • Knowledge of federal regulations related to IT systems.
