About the position

The Cloud Security Engineer role at Robert Half is a contract to permanent position focused on maintaining the security of cloud systems within the healthcare sector. The engineer will ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of digital assets and customer data, utilizing various AWS technologies and security protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the secure deployment and maintenance of cloud solutions using Amazon CloudWatch and Amazon EC2.
  • Utilize Ansible for configuration management, ensuring secure and efficient system operations.
  • Use Atlassian Jira for tracking and managing tasks related to cloud security operations and issues.
  • Implement auto-scaling to maintain system performance and handle traffic fluctuations.
  • Develop secure APIs that adhere to industry best practices and comply with our security protocols.
  • Automate routine cloud security tasks to improve efficiency and reduce the risk of human error.
  • Stay up-to-date with AWS Technologies and implement them as necessary to improve our cloud security posture.
  • Implement and manage backup technologies to ensure data redundancy and availability.
  • Conduct cluster analysis to detect any anomalies or potential security threats in our cloud systems.
  • Continuously improve our cloud security infrastructure using the latest advancements in cloud security.

Requirements

  • Possess expertise in Amazon CloudWatch, Amazon EC2, and AWS Technologies
  • Practical experience with Ansible and Atlassian Jira
  • Proficiency in Auto Scaling and API Development
  • Familiarity with Automation processes within the healthcare industry
  • Understanding of Backup Technologies, particularly in a hospital setting
  • Experience with Cluster Analysis in a Social Assistance context
  • Ability to comply with all healthcare regulations and standards
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred
  • Detail-oriented certificates in cloud security or related fields will be a plus
  • Proven experience in cloud security in a healthcare, hospital, or social assistance setting
  • Demonstrable problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage one's time effectively
  • Strong understanding of the current threats to cloud security and how to combat them
  • Must be able to maintain patient confidentiality and protect operations by keeping information confidential.
