About the position

We are looking for a Cloud Security Engineer based in Jacksonville, Florida. This role provides a contract-to-hire employment opportunity in which you will be tasked with protecting and securing our cloud-based systems and infrastructure. You will be using your technical guidance and engineering best practices to build and scale cloud-native applications and configure network security defenses within our cloud environment. In this position, you will be responsible for protecting cloud-based systems and infrastructure from cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and unauthorized access. You will utilize your skills in Cisco ASA, Cisco Technologies, Checkpoint Firewall, Configuration Management, Deployments, Design, Windows Defender, and Application Security to enhance cloud security. Your role will also involve monitoring and identifying potential threats or breaches in the cloud security infrastructure, as well as developing and implementing security protocols and procedures to mitigate potential threats. Collaboration with other team members will be essential to ensure the secure design and implementation of cloud-based systems. You will continuously update your knowledge of industry trends and advancements in cloud security and troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to cloud security. This position requires a proactive approach to security and a commitment to maintaining the integrity of our cloud environment.

Responsibilities

• Protect cloud-based systems and infrastructure from cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and unauthorized access.
• Use technical guidance and engineering best practices to securely build and scale cloud-native applications.
• Configure network security defenses within the cloud environment.
• Design, test, and plan security measures and policies to keep business information, network, and other assets safe and secure.
• Utilize skills in Cisco ASA, Cisco Technologies, Checkpoint Firewall, Configuration Management, Deployments, Design, Windows Defender, and Application Security to enhance cloud security.
• Monitor and identify potential threats or breaches in the cloud security infrastructure.
• Develop and implement security protocols and procedures to mitigate potential threats.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure secure design and implementation of cloud-based systems.
• Continuously update knowledge of industry trends and advancements in cloud security.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to cloud security.

Requirements

• Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Cloud Security Engineer or a similar role.
• Proficiency in Cisco ASA and Cisco Technologies is required.
• Experience with Checkpoint Firewall is essential.
• Strong skills in Configuration Management and Deployments are necessary.
• Demonstrable ability in Design is a must.
• Proficiency in Windows Defender is required.
• Must have experience in Application Security.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team are necessary.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure is preferred.
• Relevant certifications in cloud security will be an added advantage.
• Must have a strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and risk management.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
