About the position
The Cloud Security Engineer role at Robert Half is a contract-to-hire position based in Lehi, Utah. This position is crucial for ensuring the secure operation of cloud-based services, requiring collaboration across various teams to enhance the overall security of systems and applications.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage AWS security services including IAM, VPC, KMS, Security Hub, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, Config, WAF, and others.
- Implement role-based access control (RBAC) in AWS IAM.
- Enforce AWS network security best practices such as security groups, NACLs, VPC architecture, and VPN setups.
- Manage encryption standards and protocols, such as KMS, HSMs, and data-at-rest/in-transit encryption.
- Leverage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible to enforce security policies.
- Set up and fine-tune threat detection and monitoring tools such as Wiz, GuardDuty, CloudTrail, and Security Hub.
- Integrate SIEM platforms and monitoring tools like Splunk, Datadog, AWS CloudWatch for better visibility and threat detection.
- Ensure compliance with frameworks like CIS AWS Foundations Benchmark and NIST 800-53 Rev5.
- Ensure alignment with compliance requirements such as SOC 2, FedRAMP, or GDPR.
- Perform penetration testing and vulnerability assessments for cloud environments.
- Develop and execute incident response plans (IRPs) for cloud environments.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field
- Proficiency in AWS IAM and AWS CloudTrail
- Demonstrated experience with Role-based access control
- Familiarity with SIEM Tools
- Knowledge of FedRAMP standards
- Experience with Terraform and Cloudformation
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and team collaboration skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred
- Relevant certifications in cloud security are a plus
