About the position

The Cloud Security Engineer at HP Hood LLC plays a crucial role in ensuring the security of the company's business and information technology systems. This position involves working closely with the Information Security team to implement security controls in cloud environments, conduct vulnerability assessments, and respond to security incidents. The engineer will also assist in managing user identities and participate in various security projects, contributing to the overall security posture of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, administer, and support security controls in cloud environments.
  • Propose new technologies and controls to the Sr. Information Security Risk Manager and implement them if approved.
  • Perform cyber reconnaissance to illuminate potential attack surfaces and reduce threat surfaces.
  • Monitor, discover, investigate, and mitigate cloud incidents and breaches in collaboration with the Information Security and Managed Detection and Response teams.
  • Conduct incident response procedures and support cloud projects as needed, available 24/7.
  • Schedule and conduct regular web app and cloud vulnerability scans, providing results to relevant teams for remediation.
  • Assist with the management of the company Identity Provider and user identity lifecycles across multiple platforms.
  • Participate in projects for the Information Security and User Access team, adhering to established timelines.
  • Assist with procedural and process document creation and updates as needed.
  • Engage in professional development through educational opportunities and participation in professional organizations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or relevant work experience.
  • At least four years of experience with Information Security concepts and best practices.
  • 3+ years' experience implementing or supporting cloud-based cybersecurity.
  • Experience building, architecting, designing, and implementing distributed cloud-based systems.
  • Knowledge of virtual and physical environments and their impact on cloud services.
  • Experience administering Azure and AWS environments and security controls.

Nice-to-haves

  • Hands-on knowledge of SASE, SWG, CASB, and other ZeroTrust concepts.
  • Relevant certifications in Information Security or cloud technologies.
