About the position

The Cloud Software Developer for EDA internship at IBM is designed for PhD and MS students who are pursuing graduate studies. This role focuses on developing scalable architectures in a cloud environment to support Electronic Design Automation (EDA) workloads. Interns will work collaboratively with researchers and engineers to create solutions that enhance the capabilities of IBM Cloud, enabling customers to execute advanced hardware design tasks efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Develop scalable architectures in a cloud environment for Electronic Design Automation (EDA).
• Integrate services that allow customers to leverage IBM Cloud as an extension of their on-premise hardware.
• Collaborate with researchers, hardware designers, and software engineers to create as-a-Service solutions for EDA applications.
• Optimize workloads to decrease time-to-market for hardware design projects.

Requirements

• PhD or MS students pursuing graduate studies.
• Experience in Cloud Automation (IaC).
• Proficiency in Python programming.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies.
• Knowledge of performance monitoring and optimization techniques.

Nice-to-haves

• Understanding of cloud development methodologies.
• Familiarity with the software development lifecycle.
• Experience with unit testing and Agile methodologies.
