About the position

Parsons is seeking Cloud Software Engineers to develop and enhance cloud-based solutions for government clients. The role involves a variety of software engineering tasks, including requirements analysis, software development, and problem resolution, all while working in a collaborative and innovative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution.
  • Develop solutions that integrate or extend COTS or GOTS products, evaluating project needs and generating designs for technical accuracy.
  • Analyze massive datasets to determine optimal cloud services and design analytics to enhance data for analysts' needs.

Requirements

  • TS/SCI w/ Polygraph required for consideration.
  • Experience in software development/engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution.
  • Proficiency in Java programming for distributed systems, with experience in networking and multi-threading.
  • Experience developing software with high-level languages such as Java, C, C++.
  • Well-grounded in Linux fundamentals and knowledge in at least one scripting language.
  • Experience with source code management practices and tools: Git, Maven, Jira.
  • Familiarity with Continuous Integration / Continuous Testing tools such as Bamboo, Jenkins, GitLab CI/Pipelines.
  • Familiarity with microservices software development techniques and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Apache Hadoop, Accumulo, or NiFi.
  • Certifications such as Cloudera Certified Professional (CCP) Data Engineer, Elastic Certified Observability Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD), AWS Certified Developer Associate, AWS DevOps Engineer Professional.
