About the position

The position requires a skilled Hadoop/Cloud Developer with a strong background in software development and engineering, particularly in cloud-related technologies. The role involves designing and developing applications in both Windows and UNIX/Linux environments, utilizing various programming languages and frameworks. The candidate must possess an active TS/SCI security clearance and demonstrate experience with big data technologies and analytics.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop applications in a Windows or UNIX/Linux operating environment.
• Utilize Map/Reduce and/or Hadoop, Hive, and/or Pig for data processing.
• Develop Restful services and web applications using JavaScript.
• Implement and manage OpenSource (NoSQL) products for distributed computing needs.
• Analyze requirements and design object-oriented systems.
• Monitor compute clusters and manage performance using tools like Nagios and Ganglia.
• Document technical specifications including ontologies, data models, and APIs.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI w/ Full Scope Polygraph Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
• Minimum of one year experience with Map/Reduce and/or Hadoop, Hive, and/or Pig within the last three years.
• Minimum of one year experience with the Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS) within the last three years.
• Hadoop/Cloud Developer Certification.
• Minimum of five years programming experience with at least two of the following languages: Java, C, and/or C++ within the last seven years.
• Minimum of three years experience designing and developing applications in a Windows or UNIX/Linux environment within the last five years.
• Minimum of three years experience with OpenSource (NoSQL) products such as Hbase, CloudBase/Accumulo, and/or Big Table within the last five years.
• Demonstrated experience developing Restful services.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline, or equivalent experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Ruby-on-Rails framework.
• Experience with Big-Data Cloud Scalability (e.g. Amazon, Google, and/or Facebook).
• Experience with CLOUDBASE internals and performance management.
• Experience with linguistics software for Chinese and/or Arabic.
• Experience developing and deploying analytics that discover and exploit social networks.
