About The Position

Artera Technologies is seeking Cloud Software Engineers to join their Cloud and DevOps engineering teams in Annapolis Junction / Fort Meade, Maryland. The role involves developing tools and methods to optimize application, software, and infrastructure resources, particularly for large datasets. Candidates will engage in software development, including requirements analysis, installation, integration, and testing, while utilizing cloud analytic development skills and a strong foundation in data structures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
• 0-2 years of experience for Level 1, 2-6 years for Level 2, and 6+ years for Level 3 as a cloud software engineer.
• Cloud certification(s) required.
• Java programming for distributed systems with experience in networking and multi-threading.
• Experience with Apache Hadoop, Apache Accumulo, and Apache NiFi.
• Agile development experience.
• Well-grounded in Linux fundamentals and knowledge in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Ruby, Perl).
• Experience with source code management practices and tools.
• Experience developing software with high-level languages such as Java, C, or C+.
• Experience with the Map Reduce programming model and Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS).
• Demonstrated experience with distributed scalable Big Data Store (NoSQL) such as HBase.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of predictive analysis and data trending.
• Experience with technologies such as Hive.

Responsibilities

• Software development/engineering including requirements analysis, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution.
• Design and develop automated analytic software, techniques, and algorithms.
• Develop and deploy data-driven analytics within a heterogeneous schema environment.
• Discover and exploit social networks through event-driven analytics.
• Orchestrate sets of analytics through rules engines.
