About the position

The Cloud Solutions Architect 3 is responsible for designing and implementing scalable and robust systems on the AWS cloud platform. This role requires a deep technical knowledge of cloud services, collaboration with various teams, and the ability to provide architectural guidance throughout the project lifecycle. The architect will ensure that solutions align with security standards and best practices while also educating teams on architectural principles.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deploy scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems on AWS.
  • Provide architectural guidance and oversight throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with different technical and non-technical teams to develop and implement robust cloud solutions.
  • Select appropriate AWS services based on data, compute, database, or security requirements.
  • Identify and gather requirements to define a solution to be built and operated on cloud infrastructure.
  • Assess the existing infrastructure and recommend modifications as necessary.
  • Educate on architectural principles and best practices on various technical levels.
  • Ensure solutions and infrastructures align with TIERS security standards.
  • Lead technical and design discussions to help speed the adoption of new technologies and practices.
  • Maintain working knowledge of storage and backup solutions provided by AWS.
  • Manage ITIL ticketing using Remedy and ServiceNow.
  • Manage Archer GRC.

Requirements

  • 12 years of experience with operating systems such as Red Hat Linux and Windows.
  • 10 years of experience designing and deploying scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems on AWS.
  • 10 years of experience providing architectural guidance and oversight throughout the project lifecycle.
  • 10 years of experience collaborating with different technical and non-technical teams to develop and implement robust cloud solutions.
  • 10 years of experience selecting appropriate AWS services based on data, compute, database, or security requirements.
  • 10 years of hands-on experience designing distributed systems and applications on the AWS Cloud.
  • 8 years of experience identifying and gathering requirements to define a solution to be built and operated on cloud infrastructure.
  • 8 years of experience assessing existing infrastructure and recommending modifications as necessary.
  • 8 years of experience educating on architectural principles and best practices on various technical levels.
  • 8 years of experience ensuring solutions and infrastructures align with TIERS security standards.
  • 8 years of experience leading technical and design discussions to help speed the adoption of new technologies and practices.
  • 8 years of working knowledge of storage and backup solutions provided by AWS.
  • 8 years of experience with ITIL ticketing using Remedy and ServiceNow.
  • 8 years of experience managing Archer GRC.

Nice-to-haves

  • Comprehensive knowledge of networking concepts such as IP addresses, DNS, TCP/IP, and other standard networking protocols.
  • General knowledge of database software such as Oracle, MSSQL, Postgres, etc.
  • Knowledge of identity and access management as well as additional cybersecurity principles.
  • Keep abreast of the newest cloud computing developments and work to improve the organization's cloud infrastructure.
  • AWS Solutions Architect Certification.
