About the position

The Cloud Solutions Architect 3 position at Bickham Services Unlimited, LLC is a temporary role focused on designing and implementing scalable cloud solutions on the AWS platform. The architect will provide architectural guidance throughout the project lifecycle, collaborate with various teams, and ensure compliance with security standards. This role requires extensive experience in cloud infrastructure and a strong technical background in cloud services, particularly AWS.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems on AWS.
• Provide architectural guidance and oversight throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with technical and non-technical teams to develop and implement robust cloud solutions.
• Select appropriate AWS services based on data, compute, database, or security requirements.
• Design distributed systems and applications on the AWS Cloud.
• Identify and gather requirements to define solutions built on cloud infrastructure.
• Assess existing infrastructure and recommend modifications as necessary.
• Educate teams on architectural principles and best practices at various technical levels.
• Ensure solutions and infrastructure align with TIERS' security standards.
• Lead technical and design discussions to accelerate adoption of new technologies and practices.
• Utilize knowledge of storage and backup solutions provided by AWS.
• Manage ITIL ticketing systems such as Remedy and ServiceNow.
• Oversee risk and compliance management using Archer GRC.

Requirements

• 12 years of expertise in operating systems such as Red Hat Linux and Windows.
• 10 years of experience designing and deploying scalable systems on AWS.
• 10 years of proven ability to provide architectural guidance throughout project lifecycles.
• 10 years of collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to implement cloud solutions.
• 10 years of selection of AWS services based on project requirements.
• 10 years of hands-on experience with distributed systems on AWS Cloud.
• 8 years of defining and building solutions on cloud infrastructure based on requirements.
• 8 years of assessing infrastructure and recommending modifications as necessary.
• 8 years of educating teams on architectural principles and best practices.
• 8 years of ensuring compliance with TIERS' security standards.
• 8 years of leading discussions on adopting new technologies and practices.
• 8 years of working knowledge of AWS storage and backup solutions.
• 8 years of experience with ITIL ticketing systems (Remedy and ServiceNow).
• 8 years of managing Archer GRC.

Nice-to-haves

• 8 years of comprehensive knowledge of networking concepts (IP addresses, DNS, TCP/IP, etc.).
• 5 years of familiarity with database software such as Oracle, MSSQL, and Postgres.
• 5 years of understanding of identity and access management and cybersecurity principles.
• 5 years of experience with advancements in cloud computing to improve infrastructure.
• AWS Solutions Architect Certification.
