About the position

The Cloud Solutions Engineer - Azure at Pax8 is responsible for leading and supporting Azure infrastructure migrations, specializing in lift-and-shift migrations. This role involves deploying and troubleshooting various Azure infrastructure services, contributing to the creation of reliable and scalable cloud environments, and providing technical expertise in resolving real-time cloud infrastructure challenges. The position is integral to ensuring seamless transitions to the cloud for clients and requires a strong foundation in Azure services.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support Azure infrastructure migrations, specializing in lift-and-shift migrations.
• Deploy and troubleshoot various Azure infrastructure services, including Virtual Machines, Active Directory, and Domain Controllers.
• Manage Azure Virtual Networks, identity solutions like Entra ID, and backups with Azure Backup and Site Recovery.
• Work directly with Azure Migrate to ensure seamless transitions to the cloud for various clients.
• Provide technical expertise in resolving real-time cloud infrastructure challenges, from DNS issues to identity and access management.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience working with Azure infrastructure and migrations.
• Active AZ-104 Azure Administrator Associate certification (non-negotiable).
• Proficient in deploying and troubleshooting key Azure services, including Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Migrate, Azure Files, and Entra Connect.
• Expertise in setting up Azure Virtual Networks, managing domain controllers, and using the Azure Calculator for cost estimation.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Nerdio Manager.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills that go beyond just fixing symptoms to identifying root causes.
• Modernization experience using Azure PaaS solutions like Azure SQL and Azure App Services.
• Familiarity with VMWare or Hyper-V environments.
