About the position

As a Cloud Support Engineer at AWS, you will play a crucial role in helping customers leverage cloud technologies to enhance their operations. This position involves providing technical support across various AWS products, focusing on distributed cloud infrastructure. You will be responsible for troubleshooting customer issues, improving support processes, and mentoring new team members while continuously learning about innovative technologies.

Responsibilities

• Solve customer cases through various contact channels (telephone, email, web/live chat) using advanced troubleshooting techniques.
• Drive initiatives to improve support-related processes and enhance customer experience, including creating tutorials and technical articles.
• Provide feedback to internal AWS teams to improve services based on customer support experience.
• Work on complex customer problems that may involve multiple AWS services.
• Act as an interviewer in hiring processes and mentor new team members.

Requirements

• 1+ years of software development or technical support experience.
• Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field, or 1+ years of related professional/military experience.
• Knowledge of system administration and troubleshooting for Linux and/or Windows operating systems and networking concepts.

Nice-to-haves

• Understanding of streaming video formats and protocols (H264, MP4, WEBM, HLS, Smooth Streaming).
• Knowledge of storage protocols such as iSCSI, NFS, SMB.
• Experience with cloud computing and security concepts across platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Scripting or development experience in languages such as UNIX Shell, Python, R, Ruby, GO, Java, .NET (C#), or JavaScript.
