About the position

The Cloud Support Engineer - Security role at Amazon Web Services (AWS) focuses on providing technical support to customers utilizing AWS security services. Responsibilities

  • Solve customer cases through various contact channels (telephone, email, web/live chat) using advanced troubleshooting techniques.
  • Drive initiatives to improve support-related processes and enhance customer experience, including creating tutorials and technical articles.
  • Provide feedback to internal AWS teams based on customer support experiences to improve services.
  • Work on critical, complex customer problems that may involve multiple AWS services.
  • Continuously learn new technologies and develop technical skills and competencies.
  • Act as an interviewer in hiring processes and mentor new team members.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of software development or technical support experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1+ years of related professional and/or military experience.
  • Knowledge of system administration and troubleshooting for Linux and/or Windows operating systems and networking concepts.

Nice-to-haves

  • One or more security-related certifications (CISSP, CEH, CISA, CISM, SECURITY+, OSCP, or related).
  • Knowledge of security and compliance standards (CVE, CIS Benchmarks, HSM).
  • Understanding of cloud computing concepts and experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Experience scripting or developing in languages such as UNIX Shell, Python, R, Ruby, GO, Java, .NET (C#), JavaScript.
  • Knowledge of security concepts and best practices for securing application architectures.
