About the position

As a Cloud Systems Engineer at Crimson Phoenix LLC, you will play a pivotal role in the systems engineering of cloud-based solutions. This position requires a deep understanding of various cloud providers, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, IBM, and Oracle. You will be responsible for the system-level integration and testing of systems and subsystems, ensuring that all components work seamlessly together. Your expertise will be crucial in the verification and validation of systems, ensuring that they meet the defined specifications and requirements. In this role, you will define system specifications, design integration approaches, and assess hardware/software compatibility. You will also be tasked with the preparation, installation, and maintenance of system components, ensuring that they are functioning optimally. Post-installation and post-upgrade, you will conduct system analysis and reporting to identify any issues and recommend improvements. Additionally, you will be responsible for creating and updating technical documentation to reflect system changes and enhancements. Your experience with virtualization technologies, particularly VDI and VMware, will be essential as you work with cloud environments. Familiarity with agile software development life cycles will also be beneficial as you collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions. This position is on-site in Herndon, VA, and requires a Top Secret/SCI clearance with a Full Scope Polygraph.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct system-level integration and testing of systems and subsystems.
  • Perform system verification and validation to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Define system specifications, design integration approaches, and assess hardware/software compatibility.
  • Prepare, install, and maintain system components for optimal performance.
  • Conduct post-installation and post-upgrade system analysis and reporting.
  • Create and update technical documentation to reflect system changes and enhancements.
  • Utilize virtualization technologies such as VDI and VMware in cloud environments.

Requirements

  • Experience with at least 1-2 cloud providers such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, IBM, or Oracle.
  • Strong background in system-level integration and testing of systems and subsystems.
  • Proven experience in system verification and validation processes.
  • Ability to define system specifications and design integration approaches.
  • Experience in preparing, installing, and maintaining system components.
  • Familiarity with post-installation and post-upgrade system analysis and reporting.
  • Proficient in creating and updating technical documentation.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies, particularly VDI and VMware.
  • Knowledge of agile software development life cycles.

Nice-to-haves

  • Understanding of cloud architectures and services.
  • Experience in integrating virtualized applications and application streaming or layering techniques.
  • Familiarity with MS Office and MS Office 365 integration.
  • Experience in developing integration interfaces across JAVA, .NET, C++, and similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of continuous integration, test automation, and SecDevOps on iterative development projects.
  • Ability to assist in leading and overseeing a total system perspective, including technical understanding of relationships, dependencies, and requirements of cloud, on-premise, and hybrid services.
