About the position

The Cloud Technical Account Manager (TAM) at AWS is a pivotal role that serves as the principal technical advisor for customers, helping them maximize the value and service they receive from AWS. This position focuses on building strong relationships with clients, understanding their business needs, and providing strategic guidance on AWS services. The TAM is responsible for advocating for the customer within AWS, ensuring their AWS environments are operationally healthy, and driving the adoption of AWS technologies across various industries.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the principal technical advisor and 'voice of the customer' for AWS clients.
  • Provide strategic technical guidance to help plan and build solutions using AWS best practices.
  • Work proactively to drive customer adoption and use of AWS services.
  • Collaborate with engineers and service teams to resolve customer issues and ensure satisfaction.
  • Develop close relationships with customers to understand their business and technical challenges.
  • Represent AWS within customer environments and engage with senior leadership on incidents and support management.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting experience in applications and infrastructures.
  • 4+ years of experience in technology domains such as software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, or data & analytics.
  • Strong understanding of the AWS Well-Architected Framework and its application to customer solutions.
  • Experience in a 24x7 operational services or support environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with experience presenting to executive audiences.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with AWS services and other cloud offerings.
  • Development experience in a distributed systems environment.
  • Internal enterprise or external customer-facing experience as a technical lead.
