About the position

The Cloud Technical Account Manager (TAM) at AWS is a pivotal role that serves as the principal technical advisor for customers, helping them maximize the value and service they receive from AWS. This position focuses on providing strategic technical guidance, advocating for customer needs, and ensuring operational health of AWS environments. The TAM collaborates with engineers and service teams to resolve issues and proactively drives customer adoption of AWS services across various technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advocacy and strategic technical guidance to customers.
  • Help plan and build solutions using AWS best practices.
  • Maintain operational health of customers' AWS environments.
  • Develop close relationships with customers to understand their business needs and technical challenges.
  • Drive discussions with senior leadership regarding incidents and support management.
  • Craft and execute strategies to enhance customer adoption of AWS services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, or related discipline, and 2+ years of equivalent work experience or 4+ years of related work experience.
  • 2+ years of technical engineering experience.
  • Experience in Information Technology operations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Understanding of the AWS Well-Architected Framework pillars.
  • Internal enterprise or external customer-facing experience as a technical lead.
  • Professional oral and written communication skills, especially in presenting to executive audiences.
  • Development experience in a distributed systems environment.
  • Experience in a 24x7 operational services or support environment.
  • Familiarity with AWS services and/or other cloud offerings.
