About the position

The Cloud Technical Account Manager (TAM) at Amazon Web Services (AWS) is responsible for providing strategic technical guidance and advocacy to enterprise customers, ensuring they derive maximum value from AWS services. This role involves working closely with customers to understand their operational needs and technical challenges, while also collaborating with AWS engineers and service teams to resolve issues and drive the adoption of AWS technologies. The TAM acts as the principal technical advisor, representing AWS within customer environments and engaging with senior leadership on various technical matters.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advocacy and strategic technical guidance to customers.
  • Help plan and build solutions using AWS best practices.
  • Maintain operational health of customers' AWS environments.
  • Drive discussions with senior leadership regarding incidents and support management.
  • Work proactively to craft and execute strategies for AWS service adoption.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, or related discipline.
  • 2+ years of technical engineering experience in Information Technology operations.
  • Experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, DynamoDB, and RDS databases.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to present to executive-level audiences.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a 24x7 operational services or support environment.
  • Understanding of the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
  • Internal enterprise or external customer-facing experience as a technical lead.
