About the position

The Cloud Technical Account Manager (TAM) at AWS is responsible for providing strategic technical guidance and advocacy to customers, ensuring they derive maximum value from AWS services. This role involves working closely with customers to understand their operational needs and technical challenges, while also collaborating with engineers and service teams to resolve issues. The TAM acts as the principal technical advisor, helping customers adopt and utilize AWS services effectively, and is integral to maintaining operational health in their AWS environments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advocacy and strategic technical guidance to customers.
  • Help plan and build solutions using best practices for AWS services.
  • Maintain operational health of customers' AWS environments.
  • Drive discussions with senior leadership regarding incidents and support management.
  • Work proactively to craft and execute strategies for customer adoption of AWS services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, or related discipline, and 2+ years of equivalent work experience or 4+ years of related work experience.
  • 2+ years of technical engineering experience.
  • Experience in Information Technology operations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Understanding of the AWS Well-Architected Framework pillars.
  • Internal enterprise or external customer-facing experience as a technical lead.
  • Professional oral and written communication skills, especially in presenting to executive audiences.
  • Development experience in a distributed systems environment.
  • Experience in a 24x7 operational services or support environment.
  • Experience with AWS services and/or other cloud offerings.
