About the position

The Technical Account Manager (TAM) role at AWS is designed to provide strategic technical guidance and advocacy to enterprise customers, ensuring they derive maximum value from AWS services. This position focuses on fostering strong relationships with clients, understanding their operational needs, and proactively addressing their technical challenges. The TAM acts as a principal technical advisor, collaborating with engineers and service teams to resolve issues and drive customer adoption of AWS technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advocacy and strategic technical guidance to customers.
  • Help plan and build solutions using AWS best practices.
  • Maintain operational health of customers' AWS environments.
  • Develop close relationships with customers to understand their business and technical needs.
  • Drive discussions with senior leadership regarding incidents and support management.
  • Craft and execute strategies to enhance customer adoption of AWS services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, or related discipline.
  • 2+ years of technical engineering experience or 4+ years of related work experience.
  • Must be eligible to access and support AWS GovCloud.

Nice-to-haves

  • Understanding of the AWS Well-Architected Framework pillars.
  • Internal enterprise or external customer-facing experience as a technical lead.
  • Experience in a 24x7 operational services or support environment.
  • Professional oral and written communication skills, especially in presenting to executive teams.
  • Experience with AWS services and/or other cloud offerings.
