About the position

The CLU Portfolio Manager II or III at Truist is responsible for underwriting credit requests and making credit decisions within assigned portfolios. This role emphasizes adherence to risk philosophy and lending strategies while ensuring high client responsiveness. The position requires analyzing financial statements and navigating various credit scenarios, ensuring compliance with Truist's policies and procedures, and building effective relationships with Risk Management and client managers.

Responsibilities

  • Underwrite all credit requests, including new requests and credit decisioning within portfolios.
  • Recommend credit structures that align with quality and profitability.
  • Ensure adherence to risk philosophy, risk appetite, and lending strategies.
  • Analyze financial statements and navigate various financial structures and credit scenarios.
  • Ensure commercial lending activities comply with Truist's policies and procedures.
  • Build effective relationships with Risk Management and client managers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and related training.
  • 3 years of experience in commercial lending and/or credit experience for Level II; 5+ years for Level III.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of commercial lending, underwriting, and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated effective problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of financial and cost accounting principles.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or equivalent financial industry training.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in commercial lending systems.
  • RMA - Credit Risk Certification.
