About the position

The Clubhouse Manager at Houston Country Club is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the clubhouse and front-of-house food and beverage services. This role emphasizes delivering exceptional member experiences through effective management of resources and staff, fostering a positive service culture, and ensuring adherence to club standards. The manager will engage with members, lead a team, and implement operational improvements to enhance service quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the clubhouse and food and beverage services.
  • Manage clubhouse resources and employees to ensure exceptional member experiences.
  • Promote a positive and engaging service culture among staff.
  • Train and mentor clubhouse and food and beverage team members.
  • Evaluate service standards and operational efficiency to meet member expectations.
  • Manage food and beverage budgets, ensuring alignment with financial projections.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to align responsibilities and objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and liquor regulations in food and beverage operations.
  • Act as the public face of the food and beverage operations, engaging with members and staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive management experience in a high-end Country Club.
  • Experience managing food and beverage operations in a high-end club.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and POS systems.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Membership in the Club Management Association of America (CMAA).
  • Experience in developing employee incentive programs.
  • Ability to engage diplomatically with members and staff.
