Boston Public Schools (BPS) is seeking an exceptional Cluster Substitute Teacher who is highly qualified and knowledgeable to join our community of teachers, learners, and leaders. The Cluster Substitute Teacher will be assigned to a single school to cover teacher absences for ten days or fewer per absence, with assignments potentially changing daily. This role is crucial in maintaining the continuity of education and ensuring that all students have access to high-quality instruction during their teachers' absences. You will regularly assess students' understanding and make necessary adjustments to instruction to reach these goals, demonstrating a passion for your students and the teaching profession. The ideal candidate will demonstrate mastery of their content area and enthusiasm for teaching, conveying knowledge in creative and engaging ways that align with educational standards. You will be responsible for scaffolding and differentiating instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, fostering a safe and productive learning environment where every student feels valued. Engaging with families and building collaborative relationships will also be a key aspect of your role, as will reflecting on your practice and contributing to a collaborative adult learning community. This position reports directly to the Principal or Headmaster of the school.
