About the position
The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) at Union Hospital Health Group plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care within the Endocrinology Practice. This position is integral to providing compassionate and comprehensive healthcare services to individuals of all ages, ensuring patient rights and promoting self-care. The CMA collaborates closely with physicians and contributes to patient care plans, making a meaningful impact in the community.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with the physician or manager to determine needs of patients
- Completes the routine physical assessment using common assessment skills in a systematic manner
- Contributes to plan of care for pre-defined patient problems
- Respects patients' rights, including the right to inform, privacy, confidentiality, and the right to refuse care
- Assists with patient education to promote self-care and patient independence
- Follows company policies and procedures and department protocols
- Assists the physician with special procedures
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited program for Certified Medical Assistants, Registered Medical Assistants or Certified Clinical Medical Assistants preferred but not required
- Must have CMA, RMA or CCMA certificate
- Previous CMA experience preferred
- Graduate from a one-year Practical Nursing Program
- Previous LPN experience preferred
- BLS certification
