About the position
The Certified Medical Assistant III (CMA III) at Minot Ortho Clinic is responsible for providing basic patient care and maintaining a safe and clean environment under the supervision of registered nurses or licensed practical nurses. This full-time position emphasizes adherence to clinic policies and procedures while ensuring the comfort and dignity of patients and their families.
Responsibilities
- Escort patients to examining rooms and take detailed medical histories.
- Determine the reason for the patient's visit.
- Maintain established office/clinic policies and procedures, including safety and infection control standards.
- Provide general aspects of care that meet psychosocial or physical needs of patients.
- Meet communication needs of patients and treat them with respect and dignity.
- Address psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and religious/spiritual needs of patients and families.
- Demonstrate initiative and responsibility expected of a nursing assistant.
- Notify licensed personnel of patient complaints or changes in status.
- Maintain knowledge of clinical equipment, drugs, and supplies.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies or distressful situations.
Requirements
- Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant program.
- North Dakota registration as an MAIII through the ND Board of Nursing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six months of employment.
- Prior experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Completion of a background check and drug screening.
