About the position

The Medication Assistant (MA) serves as a caregiver providing resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a charge nurse. This role involves delivering age-appropriate care, assisting with basic health care needs, administering prescribed medications, and documenting care outcomes. The MA also engages residents in wellness and recreational programs, ensuring a positive living experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a charge nurse.
• Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
• Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse.
• Document outcomes related to resident care, medication administration, and dietary needs.
• Communicate changes in resident conditions to the charge nurse.
• Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens and gather vital signs.
• Provide housekeeping and laundry services to maintain clean living areas.
• Encourage residents to participate in wellness and recreational programs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum age of 18 preferred.
• Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required in applicable states.
• Successful completion of a state-approved Certified Medication Aide/Assistant course after obtaining CNA certification.

Nice-to-haves
