About the position

We are currently hiring for a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to join the National Lutheran Communities & Services family. This role is PRN or as needed, with 12-hour shifts. The main focus of this position is to provide essential services such as medication administration and personal care services to our residents. As a CMA, you will be responsible for delivering direct, hands-on care to residents, ensuring they attain or maintain the highest possible physical, mental, and emotional well-being. We count on you to provide care for your residents in the same way you would care for the needs of your own family. This role is vital in fostering a supportive and nurturing environment for our residents, and we are looking for compassionate individuals who are dedicated to making a difference in their lives.

Responsibilities

  • Administer medications to residents as prescribed by healthcare professionals.
  • Provide personal care services to residents, including assistance with daily living activities.
  • Monitor residents' health and report any changes to the nursing staff.
  • Maintain accurate records of medication administration and resident care.
  • Ensure a safe and clean environment for residents.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members.

Requirements

  • C.N.A. Certification is required.
  • Certification as a Medication Aide is required.
  • Knowledge of safe medication administration techniques is essential.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Passion for serving older adults and providing compassionate care.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred, but recent graduates are welcome.
