About the position

Responsibilities

• Assist the physician or healthcare provider with patient care tasks.
• Perform basic medical assisting procedures to ensure patient comfort and safety.
• Maintain knowledge of medical terminology and office procedures.
• Support the healthcare team in administrative tasks as needed.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent and/or completion of a one-year medical assistant program or an accredited two-year medical assisting program.
• Certification and/or registration as a medical assistant through AAMA, AMT, NCCT, or NHA, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• CPR certification or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
• One to three years of experience in a medical or physician office preferred.
• Basic business office, clinical skills, and computer skills preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience/training in general medical office skills and procedures.
• Proficient knowledge of medical terminology.
