About the position

The Instructional Designer and Assessment Coordinator at Central Maine Community College (CMCC) plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of education by leading and assisting faculty in the development, delivery, and assessment of various course formats, including face-to-face, online, and hybrid courses. This position requires expertise in curriculum design and instructional techniques, with a focus on promoting innovative teaching practices and ensuring course accessibility. The role involves collaboration with faculty, providing professional development opportunities, and overseeing the Center for Faculty Development and Exchange.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and assist faculty in the development, delivery, and assessment of courses.
  • Serve as the Brightspace LMS point of contact.
  • Support, promote, and train faculty in innovative curriculum design and instructional practices.
  • Provide guidance on outcomes-based curriculum development and related assessment activities.
  • Develop and schedule faculty professional development opportunities, including workshops on instructional best practices and technology use.
  • Oversee and promote the Center for Faculty Development and Exchange.

Requirements

  • Master's degree
  • Experience in curriculum design
  • Demonstrated experience with learning management system(s)
  • Experience teaching at the college level.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with the Brightspace LMS
  • Community college teaching experience.
