About the position

The CMM Programmer / FARO Arm Technician is responsible for performing layout inspections in accordance with AS9102 standards using a FARO Arm and Polyworks software. This role requires a strong understanding of dimensional inspection processes, GD&T, and the ability to manage and report on job quantities accurately. The technician will also assist in new product development and ensure quality workmanship while adhering to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Perform layout inspection per AS9102 using a FARO Arm & Polyworks.
• Accurate scanning in and out of jobs and properly reporting processed quantities.
• Wear proper safety equipment and maintain a clean and safe work area following 6S principles.
• Understand customer requirements and internal scrap challenges, and demonstrate the ability to deliver quality workmanship.
• Perform dimensional inspection per AS9102 and prepare blueprints and AS9102 forms for 100% inspections.
• Develop plans and requirements for sectioning.
• Assist inspection areas during overflow periods and with new product development.
• Report any problems or discrepancies to immediate Management, Engineering, or Quality.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Minimum 5 years' experience with running and programming a CMM or equivalent machine (FARO arm strongly preferred).
• Experience working with inspection software (Polyworks preferred).
• GD&T experience working with highly complex casting/machining blueprints.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong computer skills and awareness of software modeling systems.
• Ability to interact with customers when required.
• Strong organizational skills, team-oriented, and self-motivated.
