About the position

The CMM Programmer, Operator & Inspector at CMI Group is responsible for providing CMM programming and quality control support in the aerospace and defense manufacturing sector. This role involves creating and implementing CMM programs, conducting dimensional inspections, and collaborating with engineering and inspection teams to ensure program efficiency and accuracy. The position requires a strong focus on continuous improvement and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform First Article Dimensional Inspection
• Create, develop, edit, and implement new CMM programs using PCDMIS offline software from 3D solid-models and 2D drawings
• Audit, implement, and revise programs for continuous improvement
• Collaborate with CMM programmers and inspection teams to solve complex issues
• Work with engineering and Inspection lead to ensure data collection and program efficiency
• Develop best practices and lean processes for CMM program improvement
• Continuously improve and learn new software and equipment

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a CMM operator using PCDMIS software
• Minimum 3 years' experience as a CMM programmer using PCDMIS offline software
• Minimum 5 years' experience as a quality inspector
• High School diploma or GED required
• Technical college or secondary training in a quality discipline preferred
• Ability to program, set-up, and prove out PCDMIS coordinate measurement machines with minimal supervision
• Ability to perform surface plate layout work using conventional measurement equipment
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings per ASME Y14.5M specifications
• Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
