About the position

The CMM Programmer / Romer Arm Inspector is responsible for performing first article inspections, in-process inspections, and final inspections to ensure that products meet quality standards. This role involves analyzing and interpreting data, preparing non-conformance reports, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aerospace and machine shop environments, with proficiency in using various metrology instruments.

Responsibilities

• Perform first article inspections, in-process inspections, and final inspections.
• Visually check for damaged parts and ensure all documentation is in order.
• Prepare non-conformance reports as needed.
• Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Inspect parts with knowledge of dimension and tolerance as required by drawings.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards including AS9100 and GD&T.
• Conduct thorough testing of programs to identify bugs or areas for improvement.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to programming practices.

Requirements

• 2-5 years of aerospace, machine-shop experience.
• Experience with CMM & Portable CMM/arm while using Verisurf is highly desirable.
• Mastercam experience, CMM programming, and machining background.
• Experience with inspecting aerospace parts and strong shop math background.
• Intermediate level computer proficiency including e-mail, Word, Excel, and Adobe PDF.
• Familiarity with codes standards applicable in manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of dimensional inspection techniques is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with cross-functional teams.
