About the position

The CMM Programmer/Operator at Signicast is responsible for programming and operating the coordinate measuring machine (CMM) to conduct layout inspections of production parts. This role emphasizes safety, compliance with quality standards, and accurate reporting of inspection results. The position requires effective communication and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to interpret complex documents and programming languages.

Responsibilities

• Program the CMM using Zeiss Calypso and PCDMIS programming language with part drawings or CAD models.
• Provide accurate, detailed reports of inspections on samples of castings and machined parts using Calypso, PCDMIS, and MS Excel templates.
• Perform calibrations on measurement and test equipment and update SPC records.
• Calibrate simple gages used with traceable standards.
• Request quotes and submit purchase requests for external calibration services.
• Use Gage tracker software to record the calibration status of all gages and notify employees of due calibrations.
• Perform any inspections required by supervision.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent on-the-job training.
• Five years of inspection or layout experience, with one year of quality inspection or calibration experience.
• Certified Calibration Technician or Certified Quality Technician Certificate preferred.
• Ability to effectively communicate with other employees and share information.
• Ability to read and interpret complex documents and programming languages.
• Ability to write standard reports and documentation.
