The CMM Programmer at Cox Machine Inc. plays a crucial role in ensuring quality in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for communicating and resolving quality-related issues by performing first part and final inspections as necessary. The CMM Programmer supports both the Quality and Manufacturing functions by educating employees on quality systems, quality metrics, and customer engineering. Adhering to the quality management system, the programmer follows designated work instructions and procedures to ensure that quality products are manufactured. A key aspect of this role involves generating CMM programs utilizing PC-DMIS metrology software, ensuring that these programs meet DPD/MBD and engineering requirements. In addition to creating CMM programs, the programmer is tasked with correcting and revising these programs as needed to support manufacturing needs. Training operators on proper CMM usage is also a significant responsibility, as is maintaining and sustaining existing CMM programs. The CMM Programmer provides training, learning, and development opportunities for all employees, partnering with other departments to ensure adherence to the Quality Management System and compliance requirements. Collaboration with operations, leaders, purchasing, customer service, and others is essential to efficiently meet customer demand. The role requires excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with internal customers. The CMM Programmer inspects and evaluates products for quality and defects, providing visibility to supervision regarding potential quality issues and offering input on internal perceptions related to Quality and Delivery performance. Working closely with Manufacturing and Quality Assurance personnel, the programmer performs in-process reviews to ensure best practices are followed and completes AS9102 FAIs as required, ensuring that all manufactured products meet customer requirements. Other related duties may be assigned as necessary.
