About the position

As a CMT Project Manager at Terradyne Engineering, you will oversee the testing and quality assurance of construction materials for various projects. This role involves managing testing schedules, coordinating with lab technicians, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, and maintaining quality control throughout the construction process. You will also be responsible for preparing cost estimates, project planning, and ensuring that all team members are certified and compliant with safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing cost estimates and proposals.
  • Project planning and coordination.
  • Quality assurance and control.
  • Reporting and documentation.
  • Team management and communication.
  • Regulatory compliance.
  • Conducting interviews.
  • Daily monitoring of team members' attendance and timesheets, including weekly approval.
  • Gathering truck inspection reports from technicians and handing them to the fleet manager.
  • Reviewing reports and sending them to clients once work is completed.
  • Communicating with clients daily and addressing any issues promptly.
  • Preparing, reviewing, and submitting invoices daily to the branch manager.
  • Communicating with accounting for invoice issues.
  • Monitoring and ensuring PM work completion daily.
  • Ensuring technicians are certified within 90 days of employment (training, practice exams).
  • Maintaining field technicians' certifications current, including ACI and Nuclear Density Gauge.
  • Attending local ACI TCEI and related meetings.
  • Overseeing the daily activity of the CMT lab and ensuring clients receive data before the stipulated due date.
  • Completing proposals, change orders, and submitting them for review.
  • Inspecting and ensuring equipment is maintained and calibrated.
  • Communicating and collaborating with the Lab Manager to ensure calibrations and accreditation are completed before the agreed due date.
  • Visiting job sites and attending meetings.
  • Marketing to obtain new clients.
  • Maintaining communication with existing clients to ensure their satisfaction.
  • Maintaining a safe work environment and a clean and organized work area.

Requirements

  • 5 years of construction material testing experience.
  • 2 years of management experience.
  • ACI certification required.
  • NICET or ICC certification preferred.
  • Excellent time management skills to effectively prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with team members, management, and clients.
  • Experience leading projects successfully.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Understanding of construction methods, regulations, and safety practices.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
  • Basic computer skills such as Word and Excel.
  • Clean MVR, background, and drug screening.
  • Valid driver's license.

Nice-to-haves

  • National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) certification.
  • Experience with Nuclear Density Gauges.
