About the position

Join Lutheran Community at Telford as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents. As a CNA, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care during the day hours, working closely with our nursing team to ensure the safety and comfort of our residents. This position requires current PA CNA certification and involves performing basic nursing skills as directed. You will be responsible for assisting residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, mouth care, toileting, and transfers. Additionally, you will document activities appropriately and inform the nurse of any findings or observations while caring for residents, such as skin tears, bruises, or changes in status. Regular attendance is essential, and you will need to prioritize care based on resident needs in your assigned neighborhood. You will also be required to complete state-mandated in-service training to ensure competency in your role, including additional training in dementia care. Responsibilities

  • Report at start of shift with pocket care plans/worksheet to receive shift report.
  • Prioritize care with co-workers in assigned neighborhood based on resident needs.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, mouth care, toileting, and transfers.
  • Responsible for appropriate documentation of activities.
  • Inform nurse of any findings or observations while caring for residents, such as skin tears, bruises, accidents, incidents, or changes in status.
  • Ensure competency by completing state mandated 12 hours of in-services yearly and an additional 6 hours of dementia training.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and clutter-free environment to ensure safety.
  • Maintain a friendly, professional attitude with residents, visitors, and staff.
  • Attend Resident Care Conference for neighborhood, meetings, and in-services as required.
  • Assist with vital signs.

Requirements

  • Current PA CNA certification is required.
  • Ability to perform basic nursing skills as directed.
  • Strong communication skills to inform nurses of resident observations.
  • Commitment to regular attendance and teamwork.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a senior care environment is preferred.
  • Additional certifications in dementia care or related fields.
