About the position
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) position at Amergis involves providing direct patient care to a 1st grade male student with cerebral palsy in a school setting. The role requires close monitoring of the student due to his medical needs, including sensitivity to temperature and swallowing difficulties. The position is scheduled for the 2024/2025 school year, with a commitment of 32.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, starting in January 2025.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed medical professional.
- Assist the student with daily activities and personal care needs.
- Monitor the student's health and safety, especially regarding temperature sensitivity and mobility.
- Maintain a supportive and nurturing environment for the student.
Requirements
- One year of experience as a certified nursing assistant within the last three years is preferred.
- Graduate from a certified nursing assistant program with active certification in good standing.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and clerical functions.
- Current CPR certification if applicable.
- TB Questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray if applicable.
- Current health certificate as per contract or state regulation.
- Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
