About the position

As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Tabitha's Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to older adults. This full-time position requires a commitment to making a difference in the lives of our residents, ensuring their well-being and happiness. You will work the night shift from 6 PM to 6:30 AM, with a weekend rotation every third Saturday and Sunday, totaling 36 hours per week. Your responsibilities will include assisting residents with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting, and transferring. You will also assist with admissions, discharges, and the orientation of new employees, ensuring that all documentation is completed according to department protocols. In addition to providing personal care, you may also be involved in administering medications and treatments as a Med Aide, or assisting with functional maintenance activities as a Functional Maintenance Aide. This role requires you to prioritize assignments and adjust to the frequently changing needs of residents and team members throughout your shift. You will be expected to perform your duties within the assigned work environment and adhere to all facility policies and procedures. Your ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, is essential for understanding care plans and interacting with residents and staff. Responsibilities

  • Provides assistance with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting, transferring/ambulation, and continence.
  • Assists with Senior/client admissions, discharges, transfers, and orientation of new employees.
  • Follows department protocol for submission of completed documentation.
  • Prioritizes assignments, making adjustments throughout the shift to meet frequently changing needs.
  • Performs work duties within the assigned work environment related to the position, as assigned by Tabitha.
  • As a Med Aide, prepares and administers medications, treatments, and oxygen as ordered by the physician.
  • Administers PRN medications/treatments under the direction of the RN, within scope of practice.
  • Evaluates emergency situations, performing CPR when necessary based on training.
  • As a Bath Aide, provides and/or assists with providing Senior/client bathing, promoting optimum independence.
  • As a Functional Maintenance Aide, performs tasks including strengthening exercises and activities of daily living.

Requirements

  • Valid CNA certification in good standing as demonstrated by inclusion on the Nebraska State Registry.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 6 months experience as an aide or caregiver preferred.
  • If a Med Aide, CNA and Med Aide 40-hour certification in good standing required.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and follow written or verbal instructions.
  • Physical ability to perform job duties, including lifting and pushing/pulling as required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a nursing or rehabilitation setting.
  • Additional certifications related to elder care or rehabilitation.
